We’ll be running 2 member-focused webinars in March. 

A webinar is a live, virtual, educational session hosted by a person or a number of people during which participating viewers can submit questions and comments. 

Led by a pension expert, the webinars will seek to: 

• Help you get to know your pension better, and  

• Equip you with the information you need to be able to make decisions about your future that are right for you 

What we’ll cover 

‘Get to know your RPS pension’ webinar 

Whether you’re new to the Scheme or you’ve been a member for quite some time, it pays to get to know your pension better so you can plan ahead with confidence.  

Our ‘Get to know your RPS pension’ webinar can help you understand the fundamentals of the Railways Pension Scheme (RPS), and the range of valuable benefits to saving for the future with the RPS. 

It will take place on Tuesday, 4 March and Wednesday, 5 March via Microsoft Teams.  

The webinar will also cover: 

• Who contributes to your pension and how 

• Topping up your pension and tax limits 

• The options for taking your pension

'Approaching retirement in the RPS’ webinar 

Whether retirement is a long way off or just around the corner for you, it helps to know what options you have when it comes to taking your pension and what the process entails.  

Our pre-retirement webinar will give you information on the following: 

• When and how you can take your benefits 

• What you’ll get when you retire 

• Tax on your pension 

• What your loved ones might get when you die 

The webinar will take place on Tuesday, 11 March via Microsoft Teams.    

How to register 

To get booked onto either of the webinars, follow the steps below: 

• Log into your myRPS account

• From your dashboard, click on the ‘Register for our Get to know your RPS pension webinar’ article and/or the ‘Register for our Approaching retirement in the RPS webinar’ article 

• Select the registration link and complete the form with your details 

• Once done, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the webinar joining link 

There’ll be an opportunity to ask questions via the chat functionality, and to upvote the questions you’d like to hear on. Our pension expert will answer the top 5 most voted for questions at the end of the webinar. We won’t be able to answer questions specific to your personal circumstances.
