Tracing our members

Find out about the work we're doing to make sure we have up-to-date contact information for our members and that they're receiving the right benefits.

Have you been contacted by Validentity/The Tracing Group?

The Scheme's administrator, Railpen Limited, is working with Validentity – which is a trading name of the The Tracing Group – to locate members that we've lost touch with. This is to help make sure we can continue to provide important updates about your pension and pay the benefits that members are entitled to.

The Tracing Group is a UK-based data management company which traces individuals where pension scheme providers believe their current contact details may not be on file.

The Pensions Regulator and the Financial Conduct Authority require Railpen to maintain accurate information for members so that we can keep you informed, updated and ultimately in receipt of the money that belongs to you.

If you receive a letter or email from Validentity/The Tracing Group, similar to the ones below, it is genuine and not a scam. Please make sure you provide the information it asks for as we may not be able to continue paying your pension benefits in future if we cannot confirm your identity.

Even if you believe that the Scheme has your address on file correctly and it remains unchanged, please get in touch with Validentity so that it does not send you any more letters.

If you need any further information or reassurance, please get in touch with the Scheme using the details on our Get in Touch page, or visit The Tracing Group’s website. You can provide the necessary information via The Tracing Group’s website. Simply scroll down to the “Have you received a letter from us?” section and follow the ‘I have a letter’ link.
