We’ve listened to the feedback you gave us and have made some changes to your Railways Pension Scheme website. Firstly, you’ll notice it looks a bit different than before, but more importantly, the information we include on the site has been completely overhauled to cut out any jargon and make it easier for you to get to grips with your retirement planning.
One of the biggest – and most useful – changes is the new menu, which lets you see almost of all the pages that sit within each of the 4 main sections of the site: pension essentials, defined benefit members, IWDC members and the knowledge hub. You can now see, at a glance, what information is available and quickly get to what you’re looking for.
The pension essentials area covers many of the pensions topics we know are most important to you and is designed for all members to use.
There are now separate sections dedicated members of the defined benefit (DB) Sections of the Scheme and for the Industry-Wide Defined Contribution (IWDC) Section, as defined benefit and defined contribution arrangements work quite differently to one another. They’ll tell you more about the benefits you’ll get and the options available to you. If you’re not sure which type of member you are, you can find out by logging in to your myRPS account and checking the dashboard or your Membership Details page.
If you’re already receiving regular pension payments from the Scheme, you can find information under ‘defined benefits’ and ‘I’m already taking my pension’.
In the knowledge hub, you’ll find loads of handy resources, including the Read as You Need guides, video library, Retirement Budgeting Calculator, forms, newsletter and news articles. We’ve also added some new information on the Scheme’s investments and Trustee.
And, of course, your homepage has had a revamp too. We’ve added some quick links to the places we know members often want to go, and you can still find the latest news on the homepage.
We’ve revised all of the information on the site to make it as clear, accurate and relevant as possible. There are also links at the bottom of each of the pages directing you to other relevant information you might want to check out.
Don’t worry – if you’re already registered and have a myRPS account, you can continue to use it as normal. You don’t need to re-register and there are no changes to the log-in process. We haven’t made any changes to the look and feel of your myRPS account.
The Virtual Assistant is currently unavailable but should be up and running again in a few weeks. We’re updating it behind the scenes to make sure it takes you to the relevant information on the new site.
We understand it might take you a little while to familiarise yourself with the changes to the site, but we really hope you find them useful.
