As a member of a defined benefit (DB) pension scheme you will get an income for life when you retire.

But there are still a few decisions you need to make. This includes:
If you leave the Scheme before you qualify for your benefits, you become a ‘preserved’ member.
This means you don’t pay any more contributions. And your pension will be based on how long you’d paid in and your average salary at the time you left. You can find out more here
